I had my first foodgasm last Saturday.

Overwhelmed by the swarm of people, I unwillingly stand in the queue. But my friend had strongly recommended this place, so I might as well give it a go.
Cookies&Scream is located in Camden Town specialising in vegan and gluten free sweet treats. For a health freak like me the best news only follows – all bakes are low fat, low cholesterol and made with unrefined sugars. Can you make dairy, egg, honey and gluten free sweet treat luscious? I am about to find out.

Displayed behind the glass are a variety of bakes – chocolaty brownies, blondies, jam&cinnamon donuts, pecan cinnamon sticky squares, peanut butter cream pie. The list goes and on.

”What would this young madam like?” vendor kindly addresses me.
Overwhelmed by assortment, I use my go-to tactic. ”Which one would you suggest me?”

As a tray of freshly baked cookies is pulled out of the oven, he indicates towards them.I hand him £3.

My frozen hands hold a hot oatmeal cookie sandwich with chocolate chips and coconut and vanilla ice cream in the middle. It smells mouth-watering. The air fills up with a warm scent of vanilla and chocolate. I bite into it.
​
Sweet and salty flavours mix in my mouth; then gooey chocolate bits take over. Finally, slightly melted ice cream finishes this symphony.

This is far beyond reality. I close my eyes and let it happen – my first ever foodgasm. Slight booze-like dizziness, a euphoric sensation. ”Oh My God!” I keep moaning. This sandwich has become my all time favourite and I now realise why I had been recommended this cookie bar.
​
The only downfall is bar’s seating. With only four seats available, you are most likely to end up standing whilst licking ice cream and chocolate off your fingers. The staff operates quickly, both serving clients and preparing fresh treats as well as giving you a cheeky smile.
​
It does not matter if you’re a vegan or not – this is a must if you happen to be in Camden. If not – plan a journey now!
